Mirror Return is the second Glamour Lakes album, and it is available on rubine red cassette through Glamour Lakes’ own imprint, Municipal Noir.

The album was mastered by Lawrence English at Negative Space and the artwork is by Jeremy Couillard.

Whilst making this album, Glamour Lakes thought a lot about the different ways that people have made maps throughout history. It would have been really difficult to accurately measure the heights of hills and mountains using only bits of chain and triangles. Not to mention how hard it would have been to turn these measurements into accurate maps that people could use to help them go for walks in the hills and mountains. Because of these difficulties, it sometimes took many decades just to finish one map of somewhere, and so by the time some maps were finished, they were quite seriously out of date.

Having said that, it’s still really hard to make maps that aren’t out of date as soon as they are made.

Glamour Lakes has been the project of Michael Radzevicius since 2011. He has released four albums and an EP. Last time he played a show he filmed himself onstage pulling the keys out of a computer keyboard and then filled the keyboard with paint. The sound engineer stepped in the paint-filled keyboard after the show, trailing paint around the venue. ... more
